In the Khabarovsk Territory, Bamstroymekhanizatsiya (part of Natsproektstroy) has started relocating Mongkhto Station on the Komsomolsk-on-Amur – Sovetskaya Gavan Line away from the rocks to the floodplain of the Tumnin River.
The current Mongokhto Station is located near an unstable slope. The tracks here are prone to rockfalls and have restrictions for trains on the route. Relocating the station will eliminate the risk of rockfalls, ensure safety and increase the traffic speed.
The new station is being built 190 meters longitudinally from the existing one. It is moved away from the rocks by 85 meters.
To create safe conditions for trains, machine operators will process more than 3.4 million cubic meters of soil.
The builders have already replaced the waterlogged soil to a depth of 4 meters in the floodplain of the Tumnin River and made an embankment with a waterproofing geomembrane. One culvert has been built at the intersection with the stream.
The new Mongokhto Station will consist of 4 receiving and departure tracks and will be able to accommodate long trains. A catenary system, digital signaling & interlocking and communication equipment will be installed here. Modular buildings will be installed for railway workers maintaining the station.
