The rail slab for the high-speed railway line designed by Natsproektstroy has received a patent for invention. The document was issued after Rospatent's expert review, which confirmed the global novelty of the solution and the purity of design.
"A patent for invention is an important step in the development of domestic technology for the construction of high–speed mainlines. This improves NPS's position as one of the leaders in the field of innovative transport solutions," explained Nikita Terentyev, CEO of NPS//High-Speed Technology (part of Natsproektstroy).
NGP 4.0 slab is a load–bearing element of the non-ballast track of the Russian high-speed railway network.
The design has no global equivalents, it is tailored to the domestic P65 rail and 1,520 mm gauge. It is designed for large temperature differences from -50 ° C to +50 ° C, with a service life of at least half a century without overhauls.
The manufacturing accuracy of such a slab is down to half a millimeter. Each of them is RFID-tagged at the factory: an electronic certificate containing all the information about the basic unit of the mainline, including the concrete composition and three-dimensional coordinates of the position on the line.
The technology developed by NPS ensures high installation speed, up to 250 meters of track per day. It greatly simplifies repairs: the integrated polymer layer allows you to replace the rail slab without destroying the foundation. All maintenance operations require minimal track possession.
Besides the patent for invention, the slab already has five utility patents demonstrating the unique design features and engineering solutions.
