The railway station is one of the largest on the Gorky railway: its area is 10.5 thousand m². The building was built in 1975 in a Soviet modernism style.
After the renovation, the station will meet modern requirements for comfort and safety: it will have elevators and escalators for barrier-free access, halls for passengers with children, spacious waiting areas and convenient ticket halls. The building will have a cafe, a high-comfort waiting room, a coworking space and a hotel.
The existing above-ground passage between the station and the station platforms will be renovated with two-way escalators and elevators for convenient descent. Weather shelters will be installed on island platforms.
Vladimir Railway Station is located on the picturesque bank of the Klyazma River, in the historical center of the city. The building is surrounded by numerous cultural heritage sites, including UNESCO monuments.
In order for the building to seamlessly fit into the urban environment after the renovation, the institute's specialists conducted a lot of historical and cultural studies, took into account the visual perception of the structure, and preserved its height. Instead of limestone facade tiles, which have lost their artistic appearance over the years, exterior is decorated with granite, which completely repeats the texture and color of natural stone.
Vladimir Station is part of the Nizhny Novgorod Route of the Trans-Siberian Railway. Routes connecting Moscow with Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Yekaterinburg and further with Siberian cities run through it.
