The Baikal-Amur Mainline here runs through a complex relief. The railroad skirts the spurs of the Turan Range and crosses numerous tributaries of the Bureya River. For the construction of the second track the mechanics processed more than 740 thousand cubic meters of soil. At the crossing 7 bridges were built and 8 culverts were lengthened.

Signalling, communication and power supply devices were modernized at the section: more than 130 kilometers of cables were laid, 247 supports for high-voltage lines were installed.

Train traffic control at the Chebangda and Bureinsk junctions has switched to the digital mode: here they introduced microprocessor-based centralization MPTS-EL developed and manufactured by the National Design Bureau. The Russian digital automation will allow to remotely regulate the operation of switches and traffic lights, draw up train routes and increase the safety of transportation.

When expanding the crossing, the builders laid 12 switches at the Chebangda and Bureinsk junctions and equipped them with a pneumatic snow blowing system.

The development of the Februvralsk - Novy Urgal line, on which the modernized Chebangda - Bureinsk crossing is located, will increase its carrying capacity from 26 to 53 million tons of freight per year.
