The technical readiness of the bridge over the Moskva River in the section of Novozavodskaya Street, which is being built by Natsproektstroy, has reached 35%. Farhat Khasanov, CEO of NPS Roads and Bridges, reported on the progress of the work to Sergei Sobyanin, the Mayor of the capital.
According to the mayor, "thanks to its original sail-like design, the bridge will become a new decoration of Moscow."
The 250–meter-long structure with a width of 4 lanes (2 in each direction) is being built according to an unusual design for the capital - the superstructure will be suspended under an 88-meter-high pylon on a cable system that includes a triangular metal sheet ('sail').
The bridge will stand on three pillars. The first two pillars are ready, grillage concreting and the first stage of pillar body concreting are completed on the third pillar. The concrete volume of all pillars will be more than 13 thousand cubic meters.
The bridge's steel structures are assembled by suspending them from a temporary working bridge, including a span (almost 3,000 tons), a pylon (more than 900 tons), and a sail (more than 300 tons). Construction is underway without stopping the movement of electric vessels along the Moskva River.
Currently, the construction involves 217 people and more than 20 units of construction equipment of Mostootryad-114 Branch of Roads and Bridges, Mostostroy-11 and subcontractors.
