A double–track train service was opened on Chepsary – Mongkhto section of Baikal–Amur Mainline in Khabarovsk Krai. During the upgrade of Komsomolsk-on-Amur – Sovetskaya Gavan line section, Bamstroymechanizatsiya (part of Natsproektstroy) built 11 km of tracks here.
Baikal-Amur Mainline runs through a complex terrain here: in the foothills of the Sikhote-Alin range and in the vicinity of the Tumnin mountain river. Machine operators processed more than 1.6 million cubic meters of rock soil to build a subgrade for a new track. 6 bridges were built across the water barriers and 3 old culverts were replaced.
The water drainage, power supply, utilities, signaling and interlocking systems have been upgraded on the section. 296 new poles for high-voltage lines and more than 140 kilometers of cables have been installed.
The development of Komsomolsk-on-Amur– Sovetskaya Gavan Line will increase its capacity to Pacific ports from 33 to 58 pairs of trains per day.
