The builders of Natsproektstroy have completed the main building of Yuzhno-Yakutsk Thermal Power Plant in shell-and-core

Natsproektstroy Companies have completed the main building of Yuzhno-Yakutsk Thermal Power Plant in the village of Chulman in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) by installing steel structures and sandwich panels, roll roofing, windows and stained glass. Specialists from TEK Mosenergo (part of NPS Group) are installing diverters (flue gas direction switches), bypass pipes (for the discharge of flue gases upstream of heat recovery steam generators), and skidways for the steam turbine condenser inside the building. Two flue stacks of heat-recovery steam generators are 70% assembled.

Power builders have also fully installed the steel frame structures of the administrative building of the thermal power plant and are laying walls made of polystyrene concrete. It is a composite material that combines the strength of concrete and thermal insulation properties of porous plastic.
The plant will be supplied with service water from ten artesian wells, which are drilled with pneumatic percussion equipment. The strata consist of sandstone, coals, and anhydrites (minerals of the sulfate class). To date, the greatest progress has been achieved in well 5, where 52 of the 130 meters have been drilled.
Six cells have been installed on 220 kV outdoor switchgear and 10 of the 80 km of cabling have been laid. Specialists from EnergoSK (part of Natsproektstroy) have laid more than 54 km of cable, which is more than 31% of the total scope of this work. Power builders continue to install lighting cables, power, control, optical cables, and steel cable structures in the main building, process piperacks and accommodation camp.
The accommodation camp will have modern power supply systems and cable routes, and more than 42 km of cable has already been installed on its site. In addition, lighting and gas supply monitoring systems are being actively installed, and equipment for the administrative building is being installed.
Natsproektstroy Group has been building Yuzhno-Yakutsk Thermal Power Plant by order of TPP Chulman LLC (part of GEH Engineering) since February 2024. The plant with a design capacity of 313 MW is scheduled for commissioning in 2026-2027. The thermal power plant will run on natural gas supplied via the Power of Siberia Gas Pipeline to be connected via a specially built 8.5 km long branch pipeline. The combined-cycle thermal power plant is designed to cover the energy deficit in the region and provide electrification of the railway infrastructure of the Eastern Region of the Russian Railways.
