NPS builders installed the draw span of the Bolshoy Smolensky Bridge
The specialists of Roads and Bridges JSC of Natsproektstroy installed the draw span of the Bolshoy Smolensky Bridge in its design position. The installation was performed by Mostootryad-99 Branch of Roads and Bridges JSC using three tugboats, a twin-hull vessel made of barges and a jacking system. It lasted 50 hours, involving 80 people.

The specialists of Roads and Bridges JSC of Natsproektstroy installed the draw span of the Bolshoy Smolensky Bridge in its design position. The installation was performed by Mostootryad-99 Branch of Roads and Bridges JSC using three tugboats, a twin-hull vessel made of barges and a jacking system. It lasted 50 hours, involving 80 people.
Governor Alexander Beglov inspected the Bolshoy Smolensky Bridge and congratulated the workers on the successful installation of the span.
"It is a great professional gift for St. Petersburg. Two drawbridge bascules of 400 tons each have been installed. This is a very important and most difficult engineering stage in the construction of this bridge," the governor said.
The specialists of NPS Roads and Bridges are currently joining the draw span bascules with counterweights on the fifth and sixth pillars. Hydraulic cylinders are also installed on the pillars to lift the draw span. The mayor emphasized that the bridge should be ready for the passage of vessels by the start of 2026 navigation season.
