Surgut-1 TPP, the oldest power plant in Western Siberia, is undergoing modernization as part of a priority investment initiative under the State Program for Competitive Selection of Modernization Projects.

The comprehensive upgrade involves replacing steam turbines and turbogenerators, modernizing auxiliary and control systems, and installing new power transformers.

GC NPS specialists are overseeing the entire project cycle, including design, construction, installation, equipment supply, and commissioning.

Power Unit No. 13 was modernized and commissioned on June 25, 2025. Replacing its condensing turbine with a cogeneration unit increased its electrical capacity to 190 MW and its thermal capacity to 1,051 Gcal/h.

Power Unit No. 16's modernization is underway and is projected to increase its capacity to 215 MW. These improvements will ensure a reliable power supply capable of meeting the region's growing energy demands.
