Sukhodol Seaport in the waters of ice-free Telyakovsky Bay in the south of Primorsky Krai is being built to provide small and medium-sized coal mining companies with access to port infrastructure for year-round navigation. The project is underway as part of the Federal Sea Port Development Project.
Natsproektstroy companies were engaged in the construction of hydraulic structures, Sukhodol 220 kV substation and the installation of main process equipment of the seaport.
In 2023, the first stage of the coal terminal, a high-tech complex for receiving, storing and loading coal from railway transport to sea vessels, was put into operation. In July 2024, a universal transshipment facility to handle general cargo (piece cargo transported in packages) was commissioned. In September 2024, the Sukhodol Port received permission to handle up to 1 m tonnes of cargo per month.
Upon project completion, the port will take over about 20% of the total cargo turnover of Primorsky Krai with eight terminals for various types of cargo.
