The Grozny TPP project in the capital of the Chechen Republic was carried out under the Capacity Supply Agreement Program.

Construction began in February 2017, with specialists from TEK Mosenergo overseeing the project. On December 19, 2018, the first power unit was commissioned after successful integrated testing.
The second phase of the project was launched on June 28, 2019. Each power unit is equipped with a 180 MW natural gas-fired turbine unit.
The new thermal power plant has eliminated the electricity deficit in the Chechen Republic.
