Russian President Vladimir Putin and Tatarstan head Rustam Minnikhanov attended the opening of the facility via video conference. The commissioning of the bridge and road reduced the travelling time from Moscow to the Urals by an hour.

The facility was commissioned almost a year ahead of the contractual deadlines (September 2025).

The structure was built under the first stage of the Nizhnekamsk and Naberezhnye Chelny bypass. The structure has a total of 15 pylons in the overpass part and 7 pylons in the channel par; their height reaches 46 metres.

The most difficult part was the construction of the channel part of the bridge due to significant water level fluctuations in the Nizhnekamsk reservoir. Construction in the water area involved a fleet of floating cranes, tugboats, floating concrete plant, as well as special barges equipped with cranes.

The channel metal span was launched upwards from the left bank with a significant gradient, which required the use of a unique hydraulic system.
