This vital new crossing will link the city’s left and right banks along the Neva’s longest stretch without a motorway crossing: 6.4 kilometers between the Volodarsky and Alexander Nevsky bridges.

Three major interchanges will connect the bridge to St. Petersburg’s transport network: at Obukhovskoy Oborony Avenue, Oktyabrskaya Embankment, and the junction of Dalnevostochny Avenue with Kollontai Street and Soyuzny Avenue.

Once completed, the bridge is expected to serve around 800,000 people, including drivers, public transport passengers, and pedestrians. It will feature six vehicle lanes, two dedicated tram lanes, pedestrian walkways, and a cycleway.

Engineers designed the bridge with all-welded, box-section steel arches, giving it a visually lightweight appearance despite its scale: a 1.6 kilometer span supported by ten piers. When closed, it will provide 15 meters of clearance above the water and a 60-meter navigation channel for ships.
