NPS unit Transstroymekhanizatsiya has completely installed and commissioned the new airfield lighting system on the runway at Elista Airport. The system has successfully passed a flight inspection with no deficiencies found, and the equipment is fully operational.
The lighting elements show the runway boundaries, indicate the approach path, and enable aircraft to land safely even under low visibility conditions. The light intensity is adjusted based on the time of day and weather conditions.
The runway and taxiway are now largely complete. Currently, work is focused on the apron, where builders are installing drainage channels for the stormwater network, finishing the subbase and pavement layers, and performing maintenance on the aircraft stands.
There are 145 workers and 65 units of equipment currently deployed on-site. The work is progressing on schedule and on time.
The project is being carried out under the "Transport System Development" government program (Air Transport Infrastructure Development federal project) and overseen by the AGA (A) (Civil Airports/Airfields Administration).
