Student Teams Finish Work Season on Moscow – St. Petersburg HSR Construction
On August 24, a ceremony was held to mark the end of the summer working season for student construction teams deployed on Natsproektstroy's sites for the country's first high-speed railway between Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The official event took place in Valdai at the Mechta concert hall. The students received pennants for their performance in construction and administrative activities, and the banner for the best team along with individual awards for the best team leader, commander, commissar, and foreman.
"Throughout the season, the students worked side by side with experienced NPS mentors, applying their knowledge in practice and learning to work as a team. Immersion in real-world workflows helps them gain a deeper understanding of the industry, adjust to its challenges, and make more conscious choices about their future careers. What matters most to us is that exposure to the holding's operations motivates many students to continue their careers at Natsproektstroy," said Tatyana Gorlovskaya, NPS Deputy CEO for Human Resources.
"Involvement of the Russian student teams in the construction of the high-speed railway is a tangible contribution by young people to the country's transport infrastructure development. This year, we had participants from 22 regions. Natsproektstroy has a systematic approach to involving young people in key infrastructure projects, offering students not merely a chance to earn work experience, but also an opportunity to engage with advanced technologies — some of which are being introduced in this country for the very first time. In recent years alone, student teams have contributed to the construction of second tracks on the Baikal-Amur Mainline, the bridge over the Ob, and Artemovskaya TPP-2: for the students, this is not just a job but a true professional school," said Yaroslav Zubashchenko, Head (Commander) of the Central Headquarters of the Russian Student Teams.
At NPS sites, students took part in constructing key components of the future HSR: they built the subgrade which forms the base for the slab track, erected bridge supports, and worked with 700-tonne concrete girders for HSR spans, which are being used in the country for the first time.
Partnership with Russian student teams is one of Natsproektstroy's main priorities for workforce development. In 2025, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the holding and the Russian Student Teams signed an agreement reaffirming their intention to continue long-term collaboration.
