A pedestrian and bike bridge across the Nagatinsky Backwater of the Moskva River, built by Mostootryad-6 Branch of Roads and Bridges, won one of the main prizes at the 2026 International Architecture & Design Awards. The artificial structure became the 'platinum' prize-winner in the Arches, Bridges, Viaducts and Overpasses category.
The competition is being held for the fifth time. Experts from around the world evaluated more than 500 submitted works – both implemented projects and designs developed by architects and designers from 53 countries.
The 219-meter-long bridge reduced the travel time to Nagatinsky Zaton Big Circle Line Station for residents of the new neighborhood by three times and became an ornament of the district of the same name.
It stands on 4 pillars, the structure is made rigid by a system of 12 inclined pylons and guy lines acting as a reverse Fink truss. The structure features a curved shape, a division of the superstructure into a pedestrian and bicycle zone, no-stair access, and architectural lighting at night.
