A new railway flyover on the R-354 Yekaterinburg – Shadrinsk – Kurgan federal highway, constructed by Mostostroy-11 (part of Natsproektstroy), opened today in the Sverdlovsk Region.
The command to launch traffic on the flyover's two lanes was given by Andrei Nikitin, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation. The event was also attended by Denis Pasler, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, Roman Novikov, Head of Rosavtodor, and Nikolai Russu, First Deputy CEO of NPS Group.
"It is from specific projects like this that the larger effort to develop our country's road network is built. My thanks go to the road workers, bridge builders, engineers, and everyone involved in delivering the project," said Andrei Nikitin.
The new overpass removes an at‑grade railway crossing where as many as 200 trains and over 14,000 vehicles pass each day. Two lanes are now open to traffic — one in each direction — along a stretch of roughly 1 km. Construction is ongoing, with the builders intending to expand the road to four lanes.
The span structure of the new overpass is made of reinforced concrete. The girders were erected using the longitudinal‑transverse technique during windows coordinated with Russian Railways.
