Natsproektstroy companies to build 17 traction substations for electrification of Baikal–Amur Mainline

Natsproektstroy companies (OSK 1520, Bamstroymekhanizatsiya) has launched the construction of 17 traction substations for the electrification of Volochaevka–Komsomolsk-on-Amur–Vanino lines in Khabarovsk Region. The facilities will provide reliable power supply to the new electrified sections of Eastern Region.

Natsproektstroy companies (OSK 1520, Bamstroymekhanizatsiya) has launched the construction of 17 traction substations for the electrification of Volochaevka–Komsomolsk-on-Amur–Vanino lines in Khabarovsk Region. The facilities will provide reliable power supply to the new electrified sections of Eastern Region.
Five new facilities are already being prepared for temporary energization, these are Elban, Junction 21, Selgon, Jelumken, Litovko Substations. The rest are being equipped by the builders.
At the same time, work continues to install power supply, interlocking and communication systems. The builders have installed more than 23,000 poles of the catenary system, laid over 1,200 kilometers of cable lines. 650 rigid cross beams for catenary suspension wires are installed at the stations.
More than 1,100 people and 400 pieces of special machinery are involved in the work.
Electrification of Volochaevka–Komsomolsk-on-Amur–Vanino lines will increase the capacity of the busiest sections of Baikal–Amur Mainline, optimize utility costs, and improve transportation safety.
