In Khabarovsk Krai, traffic was opened on the second tracks on two BAM crossings: Amgun - Sonakh and Pil - Mavrinsky.
The sections with a total length of 16 kilometers were extended by Bamstroymekhanizatsiya (part of GC NPS, JSC).
Second tracks were built on the Novy Urgal - Komsomolsk-on-Amur line, in the spurs of the Bureinsky Ridge. For this purpose mechanics processed more than 282 thousand cubic meters of soil.
3 bridges and 8 culverts were built at the intersection with streams and rivers. The builders took into account the hydrological peculiarities of the region: the structures are designed for a sharp rise in the water level during heavy precipitation. Drainage ditches were laid to reduce the risk of track washout.
The traffic on the sections will be controlled by digital automatics developed and manufactured by Natsproektstroy companies. With the help of microprocessor-based centralization MPTS-EL it is possible to remotely regulate switches and traffic lights, detect pre-failure states of the equipment. The system is adapted to frost and is protected against impulse overvoltages. Built-in cyber protection eliminates unauthorized access to digital systems.
More than 280 kilometers of communication and signalling cables were laid at the sites. For new power supply networks 75 supports were installed.
Modernization of the 495-kilometer line Novy Urgal - Komsomolsk-on-Amur is a part of the Eastern polygon development program. As a result, the carrying capacity of this section of BAM will increase from 24 million to 49 million tons of cargo per year.
