Moscow Central Diameters (MCD) is one of the largest transport projects in modern Russia. The diameters combined the format of suburban trains and the subway, linking Moscow and the Moscow Region.

In 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin opened traffic on MCD-1 (Odintsovo – Lobnya) and MCD-2 (Nakhabino – Podolsk). In 2023, MCD-3 (Zelenograd – Ramenskoye) and MCD-4 (Aprelevka – Zheleznodorozhny) were launched.

In record time, in restrained urban conditions, Natsproektstroy companies prepared the infrastructure of the diameters for the launch of trains.

63 stations were built and renovated, including the largest Zelenograd – Kryukovo, Moscow City and Three Stations Square transport interchange hubs. They prepared the subgrade for dozens of kilometres of tracks, built bridges, overpasses and flyovers, extended the catenary network and installed traction substations.

Digital train traffic control systems of in-house design and manufacture were installed at 24 stations to ensure traffic safety and reliability.

The project includes unique engineering solutions, including the largest railway overpass in Russia with a length of 2 km.

The diameter network continues to develop. In 2024, Natsproektstroy companies completed the construction of Mitkovo Station of MCD-3; today they are working at Tsaritsyno, Begovaya, Petrovsko-Razumovskaya and Zheleznodorozhnaya stations. Each new MCD facility means new convenient routes and connections and reduced commute times for millions of passengers.
