Sala station is located on the Mga – Ivangorod line. The facility serves industrial tracks used to ship products from PG Fosforit, a leading producer of phosphate fertilizers and feed phosphates in Northwest Russia.
The Sala station project includes plans to lengthen five receiving and departure tracks, relocate the connection point of a private siding, move a safety dead-end track, and construct a track maintenance building with fire engine access.
The improvements will enable Sala station to handle trains of up to 71 standard units, which corresponds to a total train length exceeding 988 meters. This improvement is expected to boost freight traffic on the PG Fosforit (EuroChem PJSC) railway lines to 5.7 mln tons.
