GC NPS, JSC launched the construction of Russia's first rail slab plant for the High-Speed Railway
In Veliky Novgorod, GC NPS, JSC launched the construction of the country's first robotic reinforced concrete plant for high-speed highways. Total investment in the project is estimated at 12 billion rubles.
Today, a foundation stone was laid at the site of the future plant. The ceremony was attended by Andrey Nikitin, Minister of Transportation of the Russian Federation, Alexander Dronov, Acting Governor of the Novgorod Region, and Alexey Krapivin, General Director of Natsproektstroy Group of Companies.
"Today's event is an important milestone in the realization of one of the country's key infrastructure projects. The High-Speed Railway is a project that changes the idea of Russia's transportation system. We are talking about new speed, new connectivity and new regional economy. Already at the first stage a transportation framework is being created, which will not only unite the largest cities, but also form the basis for long-term growth and technological development," said Andrey Nikitin.
"We are getting not just a new plant, but a whole technological cluster, which will bring new opportunities for the development of related industries. Our region will enter a fundamentally new transportation reality - it will be possible to get from Veliky Novgorod to Moscow or St. Petersburg in record time. This will radically change the investment attractiveness of the region and the quality of life of Novgorod residents", - emphasized Alexander Dronov.
"In order to provide materials for VSM-1, we are creating one of the largest reinforced concrete enterprises in the country in a short period of time. It will take a little over a year from surveying the territory to bringing the plant to full capacity. Already in April 2026 we plan to start commissioning of the production line and produce a pilot batch of slabs, and in the third quarter of 2026 - to establish serial production", - said Alexey Krapivin, CEO of GC NPS, JSC.
The enterprise will cover up to two-thirds of the annual demand for slabs for overpasses and earth bed of HSM-1 Moscow - St. Petersburg. The plant will produce reinforced concrete slabs required for ballastless track of the HSM, as well as polymer elastic layer to protect the structure from damage.
The capacity of the plant is more than 100 thousand assembly units and more than 3.6 million square meters of polymer materials per year.
