GC NPS, JSC companies modernized more than 10 km of BAM on the Tynda-Neryungri line

In the Amur Region, Bamstroymekhanizatsiya (part of GC NPS, JSC) built 11.7 km of second tracks on the Mogot-Rikhard Zorge crossing of the Tynda-Neryungri line
The Tynda-Neryungri line, or the Small BAM line, links the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) with the Amur Region and passes through the Stanovoi Ridge. In order to expand the railroad in the conditions of mountainous terrain, mechanics processed more than 1100 thousand cubic meters of soil. The builders took into account the peculiarities of the permafrost, through which the road is laid, and strengthened the slopes of the embankment with a cooling pad.

At the Mogot-Richard Zorge crossing, trains carrying Neryungri coal descend from the Stanovy Ridge, where the Nagorny Tunnel is located at an altitude of 1014 meters. The height difference between the tunnel and Mogot station reaches 420 meters. Such relief is a serious load on diesel locomotives driving heavy trains. That's why during the construction of new tracks a 1790-meter long catching dead end - the only one in Tynda region of the Far Eastern Railway - was provided here. In case of brake malfunction, the train is directed to the branch with a rise, which allows to stop the train and ensure safety for other trains.

At the intersection with mountain rivers 6 bridges were built, including 165-meter crossing over the Mogot River, 6 culverts were lengthened.

By extending the Tynda-Neryungri line, its carrying capacity will increase to 28 million tons of cargo per year. Additional routes on the Small BAM will allow to develop coal and ore deposits in Southern Yakutia and increase cargo transportation to the central regions of the republic.
