“GC NPS, JSC” and operator “ERA-GLONASS” are the first in Russia to introduce unmanned road construction equipment on the M-12 highway
GC NPS, JSC and JSC “GLONASS” signed an agreement on strategic partnership within the framework of the XXVIII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The cooperation is aimed at joint development and implementation of unmanned technologies in the field of highway construction.
The document was signed by Alexey Krapivin, CEO of Natsproektstroy, and Alexey Raikevich, CEO of GLONASS, the operator of the ERA-GLONASS state information system.
"GC NPS, JSC actively implements advanced technological solutions at all stages of the life cycle of infrastructure facilities - from design to operation. We participate in the implementation of the country's key transportation projects, including the M-4, M-11 and M-12 highways. We are confident that the use of autonomous control systems will improve efficiency and reduce costs during highway construction," said Alexey Krapivin.
Within the framework of the pilot project the partners have equipped the road roller with the equipment of the Russian system of high-precision autonomous driving developed by GLONASS. The tests will be held on the section of the highway M-12 “Vostok” Dyurtyuli - Achit, the construction of which is being carried out by the companies of the National Projectstroy. The next step will be the scaling of the technology and the use of autonomous driving on different types of road construction equipment.
"The joint project with GC NPS, JSC is Russia's first application of autonomous technologies for road construction. Trajectory control of road construction equipment with centimeter accuracy is achieved thanks to the integration of a number of Russian technologies of high-precision navigation GLONASS JSC and Roscosmos State Corporation, creation of unique algorithms for controlling heavy production machines. Equipping rollers with our system will improve the quality and accuracy of all technological operations in road paving", - said Alexei Raikevich.
The partnership also envisages joint development of standards and regulations ensuring safe operation of unmanned vehicles in road construction.
The implementation of the agreement will contribute to the fulfillment of the objectives of national projects in the field of transport infrastructure and the formation of Russia's technological sovereignty in the field of unmanned and navigation services.
