Vladimir Putin has launched operations at the Lavna transshipment complex: the first shipment of coal for export took place at the port. The construction of the coal transshipment complex was carried out by specialists from TEK Mosenergo JSC (part of GC NPS, JSC).

The President of the Russian Federation emphasized that the commissioning of the facility will be a milestone in the development of Murmansk and the entire Russian Arctic, and thanked all the specialists involved in the implementation of the project for their hard work.

"The opening of the terminal will be a good contribution to increasing the throughput capacity of our Arctic ports, to creating additional opportunities for the coal mining industry," Vladimir Putin noted during the opening ceremony.

Builders of the coal terminal worked in difficult climatic conditions. Five conveyor trestles, five transfer stations, an approach dam and two wharves equipped with modern technological equipment, and railroad infrastructure were erected at the site. The work was going on round the clock; more than a thousand people and over 200 units of equipment were involved at the peak.
