Natsproektstroy Companies Have Expanded the Zayachy–Larba Section of Baikal–Amur Mainline in the Amur Region

Traffic has opened up on a double–track insert on the Zayachy–Larba section of the Khani–Tynda line in the Amur Region. Bamstroymekhanizatsiya (part of Natsproektstroy) has upgraded the section and built a 7.5-kilometer-long second track.

The upgraded section runs through a marshy area. To preserve the permafrost at the base of the road and stabilize the tracks, builders built drainage ditches along the embankment, laid a layer of insulating geomembranes in them, and stabilized the slopes with rockfill. Machine operators processed 95,000+ cubic meters of soil.

Four bridges have been built and three culverts have been upgraded at the intersection with the tributaries of the Nyukzhi River. Artificial structures are designed for a sharp rise in water levels during heavy rains.

Signaling and interlocking, communications and power supply systems have been upgraded within the section. The section has been equipped with a digital traffic control system. The domestic computer-based interlocking system designed and manufactured by Natsproektstroy Companies can remotely control point switches and traffic lights, set train routes and improve traffic safety.

Three modules have been installed for the new equipment and railway workers' warm-up facilities. In addition, 62 metal poles have been installed on the section for high-voltage transmission lines.

Integrated upgrade of the Tynda–Khani line will increase the capacity of this section of Baikal–Amur Mainline from 31 to 55 million tons of cargo per year.
