Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and the head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov opened the new Moscow City MCD-1 Petrovsko-Razumovskaya Station. The station has been built by specialists from OSK 1520 (part of Natsproektstroy).
The built-up area of the station is 7,300 m2. It has a large concourse bridge with an area of more than 4,000 m2, which connected Komdiva Orlova Street and Locomotivny Passage. For the convenience of passengers, elevators and escalators were installed, the tallest at the Central Transport Hub.
About 5,000 m2 of glass panels were used to glaze the station. The length of stained glass windows ranged from 0.7 to 7 meters. The builders installed a transparent roof of the concourse, panoramic windows of the pedestrian gallery. This will provide natural light access to the building.
In addition to the concourse, the station has an island platform with a full-length canopy, and two tracks. The work was done almost around the clock, without stopping train traffic.
Passengers will be able to transfer from MCD-1 Petrovsko-Razumovskaya Station to Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya and Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya Metro Lines, ground transport and MCD-3. In the future, the station will become one of the stops of the country's first Moscow–St. Petersburg High-Speed Railway.
