Natsproektstroy companies have equipped new railway facilities at Kurskagroterminal (Sodruzhestvo Group), Europe's largest oilseed processing plant, with Russian digital automation systems.
Kurskagroterminal's railway network has been consistently expanded by the launch of the third stage of the plant scheduled for 2026. Today, the length of the company's tracks is 23 km, and trains up to 330 railcars long can be handled here.
Train traffic at the facilities is controlled by MPC-EL computer-based interlocking systems designed and manufactured by Natsproektstroy companies. To improve the efficiency of transportation, 80 light signals and 63 point switches have been connected to the digital system. Points at the railway facilities have been equipped with a heating system, which will simplify maintenance and ensure uninterrupted operation of the line in snowfalls.
An axle counting system has also been implemented at the facilities: more than a hundred connected sensors will allow tracking the occupancy of track sections and the location of railcars.
Digitalization will increase the capacity of Kurskagroterminal facilities and ensure traffic safety.
The increased transport accessibility of the complex will optimize the shipment of products both within Russia and abroad — CIS countries, China, the Middle East and Africa.
During the construction of the first stage of the plant, NPS companies digitized traffic control at Kastornaya-Novaya South-East Railway Station, through which the Kurskagroterminal tracks connect to the general railway network.
