In the south of Moscow, specialists from OSK 1520 (part of GC NPS, JSC group of companies) will build the Butovo traction substation. The new substation will enhance the power supply of the MCD-2 trains on the Tsaritsyno-Podolsk section, and unload the existing Shcherbinka substation.
Specialists of OSK 1520 (an member of Group of companies GC NPS, JSC) will build Butovo Traction Substation in southern Moscow. The new substation will enhance power supply of MCD-2 trains on Tsaritsyno-Podolsk section and ease the burden on the existing Scherbinka substation.
Switchgear modules have already been installed at the site and the construction of the substation building is underway. The builders are still to install traction transformers and rectifier units to power the contact network, and mount power transmission lines.
The substation will be furnished with microprocessor-based automated equipment. A modern telemetry system will enable remote monitoring of equipment, prevent failures and perform diagnostics. Using digital communication channels, a dispatcher will be able to receive full information about the current situation and manage the facility operations.
Butovo substation is scheduled to be put into operation by the end of 2025. Reliable power supply to the MCD will ensure clock-face scheduled traffic along the route, where trains run at consistent intervals.
